Pilot cables are used for fixed laying indoor, outdoor, direct burial, cables duct and trench, usually laid in parallel with medium and high voltage power cables. It can be used for control, protection, signaling, telecommunications and data transmission purposes associated with MV and HV power distribution and transmission systems.

Construction:
Insulation: Polyethylene(PE), or cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE)
Twining element: Two insulated conductors uniformly twisted together to form a pair
Filler(optional): Non-hygroscopic polypropylene(PP) yarn, or petroleum jelly
Laid-up: Pairs are assembled together in concentric layers into a compact and symmetrical core
Core wrapping: Non-hygroscopic binder tape
Overall screen Copper tape screen, (aluminum/polyester laminated tape plus a tinned copper drain wire is also available on request)
Inner Sheath: Extruded black polyethylene (LDPE, MDPE, HDPE), or PVC, or LSZH.
Armour: Galvanized steel tape (DSTA), or galvanized steel wire(SWA)
Outer sheath: -Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or
-Polyethylene(MDPE, HDPE),or
-Low smoke halogen free (LSZH) polyolefin
